natural property that has existed and will exist.
The mixing of people of different cultures,

the engines of civilization since the recorded
history of the human being. Our world today is the
result of the crossroads of cultures and cradles

Decentralisation and
Federalism versus tight centralism
|
| Written By :- Nair Fesseha |
| Date :- 4/15/2007 |
Introduction
The aim of this
analysis is to clarify the essence of federalism
to resolve conflicts of power- sharing in
political, economic, social and cultural
livelihood of the Eritrean diversity. The Eritrean
National Alliance has put two on its charter,
“the principles of decentralization and the
fundamental rights “of the various
communities of Eritrea. But, how are these
principles be put in practice is still to be
studied. The Eritrean scholars and intellectuals
should focus their studies on the realities of
Eritrea. In Eritrea, there is an oppressed and
oppressor. Who is the oppressor, its structure and
its functions, and its supporters will be exposed
to the people. One cannot bury the facts and build
a false history in Eritrea. |

Mukhtar I: Introduction
We thank all our contributing
partners who responded to our call for input and
provided valuable insights and feedbacks to
address the issues we raised, issues that we
recognize are too numerous to address here in one
single document. We believe these issues, and the
case of refugees in particular, will not receive
the proper attention they deserve by addressing
them at this time.

Eritrea Country Reports on
Human Rights Practices - 2007 Released by the Bureau of Democracy, Human
Rights, and Labor Marc
|
| Written By :- Gabeel Team |
| Date :- 6/2/2008 |
Eritrea, with a population of approximately 3.6
million, is a one‑party state that became
independent in 1993 when citizens voted for
independence from Ethiopia. The People's Front for
Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), previously known as
the Eritrean People's Liberation Front, is the
sole political party and has controlled the
country since 1991. The country's president,
Isaias Afwerki, who heads the PFDJ and the armed
forces, dominated the country, and the government
continued to postpone presidential and legislative
elections; the latter have never been held. The
border dispute with Ethiopiacontinued, despite
international efforts at demarcation, to the
detriment of the country's international trade and
external relations. The situation was used by the
government to justify severe restrictions on civil
liberties. Civilian authorities generally
maintained effective control of the security
forces. |
